{"id":295,"date":"2010-08-03T02:45:13","date_gmt":"2010-08-03T02:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marklydecker.com\/?p=295"},"modified":"2011-08-14T21:40:59","modified_gmt":"2011-08-15T01:40:59","slug":"seven-evangelistic-considerations-for-every-christian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marklydecker.com\/?p=295","title":{"rendered":"Seven Evangelistic Considerations For Every Christian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently asked some college students if they had ever led someone to Christ, start to finish.\u00a0 Almost half a dozen of the fifty or so students in the room said that they had done this in their lives.\u00a0 While we know that God opens the heart, we also know that people cannot believe without a clear witness. \u00a0So, here is a condensed version of a presentation I made on this subject to some collegians last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 <strong>Capture The Day.<\/strong> It is important to remember that it is God and His Word that will change a life.\u00a0 Even the hardest heart cannot stand against Him.\u00a0 So dream big and expect God to use you.\u00a0 You may not get a second chance!<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 <strong>Be Intentional.<\/strong> Since we encounter people through the power of the gospel we need to plan our relational encounters.\u00a0 Plan to share Christ with the people you meet.\u00a0 Anticipate that God will open hearts.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 <strong>Train and Model It.<\/strong> Most Christians are not trained in how to share their faith so find someone who does it well and learn from them.\u00a0 Start by asking your pastor or spiritual mentor to assist you.\u00a0 While you are at it, memorize 15-20 key Scripture verses, you will need them.\u00a0 Can you imagine a soldier being sent into a conflict without thorough training?\u00a0 No way.\u00a0 Once you learn how to present the gospel, find ways to practice it and then teach someone what you have learned and practice.\u00a0 People need great models in this area.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0<strong> Consider Your Gifting. <\/strong> Not everyone is an outgoing evangelist but everyone can do something based upon their specific abilities.\u00a0 Maybe you can bake?\u00a0 Then bake your neighbor or friend a pie or some brownies.\u00a0 If you can change oil in a car, then change the auto oil for a single mom.\u00a0 Various acts of kindness can open a window to the gospel.\u00a0 But remember, everyone is responsible to tell others about Christ.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0 <strong>Materials And Methods. <\/strong>Here are a few things to use and some ways to use them.<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0 <em>Share your story<\/em>.\u00a0 Ask friends and relatives what is important to them and then share why Christ is important to you.\u00a0 People like to talk about important things and they like to hear great stories.\u00a0 Use www.mostimportantthing.org to disclose your story and direct people to it.\u00a0 Ask them to read your story online and then to send you their insight from your story.<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0 <em>Use tracts<\/em>&#8230;yes they are old fashion but they open discussion and give you an avenue to stay connected.<\/p>\n<p>c.\u00a0 <em>The Web<\/em> makes things easy and efficient.\u00a0 Scarf ideas from www.studentz.com or www.namb.net\/college.\u00a0 Refer people to www.WHYcard.net .\u00a0 Make a wordpress blog.\u00a0 A blog is easy and free.\u00a0 You can quickly learn how to make a blog through instruction on YouTube. \u00a0Of course, talk about Christ on F&#8217;book or Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>d.\u00a0 <em>Host a party<\/em>!\u00a0 Birthday, seasonal, or sports parties\/tailgates are always a great invite.\u00a0 When people see how you live they can then understand what you believe.<\/p>\n<p>e.\u00a0 <em>Go to www.studentz.com\/college<\/em> and view the <strong>&#8216;intentional evangelism&#8217;
